ABOUT THE CHEEKS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The Marvell Cheeks Jr. Scholarship Foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that helps to transform lives through scholarships, career development and enhancement for our future leaders. Selected young men and women that have demonstrated a desire to provide sustenance and stability for families and community, are those we seek to mentor.
Transforming lives, one youth at a time through scholarships and mentoring programs, the Marvell Cheeks Jr. Scholarship Foundation will assist the civic minded academically and vocationally motivated students to rise above economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
They will become successful leaders in the community using the tools learned through our array of educational programs geared toward students in grade school, trade schools, colleges, universities, vocational programs, and beyond. Civic minded academically and vocationally motivated students to rise above all odds and be great citizens of the community.
Marvell Cheeks Jr. lived to pour love and knowledge into many of today’s leaders. He believed that “Service is the rent you pay, for the space you occupy”. Those in sync with that vision, are exactly those we seek to engage and inspire.
